The training focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of energy control:
- Types of energy: Identification of hazardous energy (electrical, fluid pressure, stored mechanical energy, heat),
- LOTO procedures: Introduction to lockout and tagout systems,
- Behaviour in emergency situations: Procedures for responding to incidents involving the release of energy,
- Risk awareness: Learning to assess risks before commencing maintenance or installation work.
The participant fully understands the hazards associated with hazardous energy and knows the principles of safe energy isolation. They are able to correctly interpret warning signs and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) tags and labels. Through their attitude, they actively promote a safety culture on-site, effectively preventing personnel accidents.
The certificate does not expire (it is valid indefinitely). GWO recognises that once acquired, the technical fundamentals remain valid unless standards change drastically.
Information about the completed training will be recorded in the international GWO WINDA database. The digital record allows authorised employers to instantly verify the holder’s qualifications. For the participant, this means easy confirmation of competence worldwide without the need for paper documents.
