To refresh and update the knowledge and skills acquired during the full BST training. The aim is to ensure that the employee is still able to respond correctly in emergency situations, maintaining the highest safety work standards at onshore wind turbines.

Course description

This is a condensed, intensive version of the basic training, focusing mainly on practical exercises and a review of key procedures. It comprises 4 modules:

Working at Heights Refresher,
First Aid Refresher,
Fire Awareness Refresher,
Manual Handling Refresher.

Duration

The course lasts 17,5 hours. It is shorter than the basic version as the theoretical basics are omitted in favour of practical training.

Prerequisites

Possession of a valid WINDA ID numer,
At least 18 years of age,
Valid (not expired) GWO BST certificates for the relevant modules. The course must be completed before the expiry date of your previous qualifications,
No medical contraindications to working at height or physical exertion.

Outcomes upon completion

Confirmation of the ability to safely carry out work on wind turbines. The participant has refreshed their knowledge of evacuation, rescue at height and first aid in accordance with the latest GWO guidelines.

Certificate validity

The certificate is valid for 24 months (2 years). To maintain certification, a refresher course must be completed within the last 2 months prior to the expiry date of the current certificate.

Information regarding the completed training will be recorded in the international GWO WINDA database. The digital record enables authorised employers to instantly verify your qualifications. For participants, this means easy confirmation of competence worldwide without the need for paper documents.
