Course description

Participants learn how to safely handle, transport and transfer hazardous substances while adhering to applicable standards and procedures.

The Hazardous Materials Handling training is intended for:

Employees of port and container terminals
Drivers and forklift operators
Warehouse staff and logisticians
Employees of forwarding and transport companies
HSE inspectors and persons responsible for the safety of logistics operations
Management personnel responsible for organising work with hazardous goods

Scope of training and course completion

Scope of the training:

Legal regulations related to the handling of hazardous materials, including, among others, the SOLAS Convention, IMDG Code, and national regulations.
Groups of hazardous goods in port operations. Basic information on “N” goods in maritime transport and precautions during handling.
Technology of hazardous materials handling. Storage of “N” materials. Procedures and practical knowledge.
Safety principles during hazardous materials handling operations.
Hazards associated with hazardous materials handling. Chemical, fire and environmental rescue. Procedures and emergency response.

Additional information

The classes are conducted by qualified lecturers/trainers with many years of experience.

After successfully passing the internal examination, the participant receives an unlimited-validity certificate of completion, issued on the basis of §18(2) of the Regulation of the Minister of National Education, authorising the holder to perform tasks related to hazardous materials handling.
