To teach participants how to move and work safely at height in a wind turbine environment. The course aims to instil good practices regarding the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the efficient conduct of evacuation and rescue operations in life-safeing situations.
The training focuses on the practical aspects of working at height. It covers learning about regulations, pre-use equipment checks, safe ladder climbing, and rescue techniques. Participants practise scenarios involving the rescue of a ‘casualty’ from various parts of the turbine (e.g. from a ladder or from inside the nacelle) and self-evacuation from height.
The participant is able to correctly select and check a harness and equipment, move safely along safety systems inside the turbine, and carry out an effective rescue and evacuation operation using descent devices.
The certificate is valid for 24 months (2 years). To maintain certification, a refresher course must be completed within the last 2 months prior to the expiry date of the current certificate.
Information regarding the completed training will be recorded in the international GWO WINDA database. The digital record enables authorised employers to instantly verify the holder’s qualifications. For the participant, this means easy confirmation of competence worldwide without the need for paper documents.

We train participants using specialist equipment, full-scale structures, training towers, simulators and a pool, so they can practise procedures rather than simply hear about them.
We work with Energy Innovation in Norway and leading maritime institutions in Poland: Gdynia Maritime University and the Polish Naval Academy. We combine international industry experience with expert knowledge and the resources of Polish maritime universities.
