Comprehensive preparation of participants for work in installation teams on wind farm construction sites. This package combines basic knowledge of turbine construction with practical skills in the assembly of heavy structures and electrical systems, with an emphasis on safety and precision of execution.

Course description

The training covers four key components:

BTT Mechanical (BTTM): Fundamentals of turbine construction and mechanical operations,
BTT Bolt Tightening (BTTB): Specialist operation of hydraulic and torque tools,
BTTI-Mechanical (BTTI-M): Installation procedures, component logistics and assembly of tower/nacelle sections,
BTTI-Electrical (BTTI-E): Installation of cabling, earthing and control systems during the construction phase.

Duration

The course lasts 35 hours.

Prerequisites

Possession of a valid WINDA ID number,
At least 18 years of age,
No health contraindications to physical work (statement required),
For this package, you do not need to hold any previous BTT certificates – the core modules (M and B) are covered first, which opens the way to the installation modules (I-M and I-E) as part of the same course.

Outcomes upon completion

The participant is able to correctly and safely install mechanical and electrical components, and operates advanced hydraulic bolt tensioning equipment. They are familiar with commissioning procedures and efficiently complete installation checklists. Furthermore, they fully understand the hazards specific to a wind farm construction site.

Certificate validity

The certificate does not expire (it is valid indefinitely). GWO recognises that once acquired, technical knowledge remains valid unless standards change drastically.

Information about the completed training will be recorded in the international GWO WINDA database. The digital record enables authorised employers to instantly verify the holder’s qualifications. For the participant, this means easy confirmation of competence worldwide without the need for paper documents.

Workwear (two changes recommended, as the work involves grease and hydraulic tools),
