The training covers four key components:
- BTT Mechanical (BTTM): Fundamentals of turbine construction and mechanical operations,
- BTT Bolt Tightening (BTTB): Specialist operation of hydraulic and torque tools,
- BTTI-Mechanical (BTTI-M): Installation procedures, component logistics and assembly of tower/nacelle sections,
- BTTI-Electrical (BTTI-E): Installation of cabling, earthing and control systems during the construction phase.
The participant is able to correctly and safely install mechanical and electrical components, and operates advanced hydraulic bolt tensioning equipment. They are familiar with commissioning procedures and efficiently complete installation checklists. Furthermore, they fully understand the hazards specific to a wind farm construction site.
The certificate does not expire (it is valid indefinitely). GWO recognises that once acquired, technical knowledge remains valid unless standards change drastically.
Information about the completed training will be recorded in the international GWO WINDA database. The digital record enables authorised employers to instantly verify the holder’s qualifications. For the participant, this means easy confirmation of competence worldwide without the need for paper documents.
