Course description

The training programme covers activities within first aid: ways of arranging a victim, actions to be taken in case of loss of consciousness, resuscitation, actions to be taken in case of bleeding, rescue and transport of a victim on a ship and practical exercises in dressing injuries, immobilizing sprains, fractures and limbs dislocations.

According to the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure and Development: Number of days: 2, Total: 20 hours, Lectures: 13 hours, Exercises: 7 hours

Prerequisites

Holding a certificate of training within elementary rules concerning providing medical first aid – the certificate should have been issued after 2013.

Scope of training and course completion

Certificates are issued by the maritime administration (the Maritime Authority). The certificate does not expire and does not require updating.

The training ends with a credit:

Lectures – a test
Exercises – a demonstration of skills
