To provide individuals without electrical training with basic theoretical and practical knowledge of electrical engineering. The course aims to prepare participants to move safely within the environment of wind turbine electrical installations and to understand the basic physical phenomena occurring in circuits.

Course description

The training covers the fundamentals of direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC). The programme includes instruction on physical quantities (voltage, current, resistance, power), Ohm’s law and Kirchhoff’s laws. Participants learn to read simple electrical diagrams, identify components (resistors, capacitors, coils, relays) and use a multimeter safely.

Duration

The course lasts 38,5 hours.

Prerequisites

Basic level of education (basic knowledge of mathematics required), at least 18 years of age. No prior knowledge of electrical engineering is required – the course starts from scratch.

Outcomes upon completion

The participant understands the principles of how electrical circuits work, is able to safely carry out basic voltage and continuity tests, recognises symbols on technical diagrams, and understands the risks associated with contact with electric current (including electric arcs).

Certificate validity

The certificate does not expire (it is valid indefinitely), however, in the wind energy sector, it is recommended to refresh technical knowledge every 2 years.

In cooperation with an external clinic, we help arrange the required occupational health examinations. The scope may include, among others, the Chester Step Test, an exercise stress test, and the option to obtain an OEUK/OGUK certificate.
