The training takes the form of intensive practical exercises simulating real-life accident scenarios. It covers:
- Techniques for extracting a casualty from inside the rotor blades,
- Rescue inside the hub and movement within the spinner,
- The correct configuration of hoisting and lowering systems in extremely confined spaces,
- Communication and incident management strategies in high-pressure situations.
The participant is able to independently and as part of a team plan and effectively execute an evacuation from the most difficult-to-reach areas of a wind turbine. They are fully prepared to correctly select and safely install certified rescue equipment at specific anchoring points within the hub and blades. Furthermore, they can efficiently apply advanced techniques for packaging a casualty into a stretcher in both vertical and horizontal positions within confined turbine structures.
The certificate is valid for 24 months (2 years). To maintain certification, a refresher course must be completed within the last 2 months prior to the expiry date of the current certificate.
Information regarding the completed training will be recorded in the international GWO WINDA database. The digital record enables authorised employers to instantly verify your qualifications. For the participant, this means easy confirmation of competence worldwide without the need for paper documents.
