This is a comprehensive ‘from scratch to technician’ training programme, comprising:
- BTT Mechanical (M): Fundamentals of mechanics, turbine construction, manual operations and tool handling,
- BTT Electrical (E): Fundamentals of electrical engineering, reading diagrams, measurements and electrical safety,
- BTT Hydraulic (H): Principles of hydraulic system operation, components, system pressure verification, and hazard identification,
- BTT Bolt Tightening (BTTB): Techniques for the safe tightening of bolted joints (torque and hydraulic),
- HEBS (Hazardous Energies): Safe management of hazardous energies and LOTO procedures.
The participant gains comprehensive technical preparation for working on a wind farm. They acquire knowledge of the operation of main turbine systems, such as the drivetrain, control system, as well as brake and pitch hydraulics. They can safely operate hand, power, and hydraulic tools, and correctly apply energy isolation (LOTO) procedures when entering service areas. Furthermore, based on technical documentation, they are capable of efficiently diagnosing basic faults.
The certificate does not expire (it is valid indefinitely). GWO recognises that once acquired, technical knowledge remains valid unless standards change drastically.
Information about the completed training will be recorded in the international GWO WINDA database. The digital record enables authorised employers to instantly verify the holder’s qualifications. For the participant, this means easy confirmation of competence worldwide without the need for paper documents.
