The training covers the theory of power hydraulics and practical exercises at workshop stations. The programme teaches how to identify components (pumps, valves, actuators, hydraulic accumulators), read hydraulic diagrams and safely bleed systems. A key element is learning about hazards, such as oil injection under the skin or sudden pressure release.
The participant is able to identify the main hydraulic components in a turbine, correctly interpret symbols on hydraulic diagrams, safely check the pressure in the system and carry out basic maintenance tasks, as well as identify and mitigate the risks associated with working on pressurised systems.
The certificate does not expire (it is valid indefinitely). GWO recognises that once acquired, technical knowledge remains valid unless standards change drastically.
Information about the completed training will be recorded in the international GWO WINDA database. The digital record enables authorised employers to instantly verify the holder’s qualifications. For the participant, this means easy confirmation of competence worldwide without the need for paper documents.
