The training focuses on the day-to-day operation of lifting equipment in the nacelle or tower:
- Types of equipment: construction and operating principles of chain hoists and small service cranes,
- Pre-use inspection: checking brakes, chains, hooks and emergency stop switches,
- Safe operation: load control techniques, avoiding overloads and correct positioning of goods,
- Emergency situations: procedures in the event of a load becoming stuck or a power failure.
The participant is able to correctly and safely operate electric and manual hoists used in wind turbines. They are fully prepared to independently identify faults that disqualify the equipment from further service and to apply safe rigging methods for standard service loads. Furthermore, they perfectly understand the lifting capacity parameters and limitations (SWL/WLL) of the operated equipment, allowing them to minimize risks during transport operations.
The certificate does not expire (it is valid indefinitely). GWO recognises that once acquired, technical knowledge remains valid unless standards change drastically.
Information regarding the completed training will be recorded in the international GWO WINDA database. The digital record enables authorised employers to instantly verify the holder’s qualifications. For the participant, this means easy confirmation of competence worldwide without the need for paper documents.
