The training focuses on reviewing key electrical safety procedures:
- Regulatory update: discussion of changes to GWO COHE ES and local electrical safety requirements,
- LOTO practice: a refresher on lockout, tagout and verification of de-energised status,
- Incident analysis: a review of common errors made during energy isolation and how to avoid them,
- Skills verification: practical exercises using testers and lockout kits in emergency and maintenance scenarios.
The participant confirms their ability to correctly perform the full electrical isolation procedure. They demonstrate knowledge of the latest methods and operation tools used for hazardous energy control. Furthermore, they are able to flawlessly and correctly complete documentation related to Permit to Work (PTW) systems and LOTO procedures.
The certificate is valid for 24 months (2 years). To maintain certification, a refresher course must be completed within the last 2 months prior to the expiry date of the current certificate.
Information regarding the completion of the training course will be recorded in the GWO WINDA international database. This digital record enables authorised employers to verify qualifications instantly. For participants, this means they can easily confirm their qualifications worldwide without the need for paper documents.
