Duration:
The training takes place at the Training Center and lasts for 4 hours (half a day).

Prerequisites:
Registration in the WINDA database at winda.globalwindsafety.org and obtaining a WINDA ID (registration can be completed during the training).

Course Validity:
2 years

Course Objective:
This course aims to refresh knowledge from the Fire Awareness module and equip participants with the necessary skills to:

  • Prevent fire outbreaks.
  • Make appropriate assessments in the event of a fire.
  • Organize evacuations.
  • Ensure all personnel are safely evacuated in the event of an uncontrolled fire.

If the fire situation is assessed as controlled, participants should be capable of effectively extinguishing an initial fire using available firefighting equipment.

Outcomes upon completion of the training:

  • Participants will be able to independently identify fire hazards and take preventive measures against fires in the wind turbine environment.
  • Trainees will be able to assess fire situations and, if necessary, choose the appropriate firefighting methods depending on the type of fire.
  • Participants will be able to conduct a safe evacuation from the danger area.
  • Trainees will be able to independently and effectively extinguish initial fire outbreaks using available firefighting equipment, provided the situation is assessed as safe.

Conditions for refresher training:
The certificate is valid for 24 months. Certificates and training documentation must be renewed before the expiration date. The certificate is refreshed through the Fire Awareness Refresher course.

If the certificate has expired, the participant must take the full Fire Awareness training to obtain new documentation.

Key message:
GWO allows for the refreshment of the module up to three months before its expiration date, with the new one becoming active on the day the previous one expires.
