The training takes place at the Training Center and lasts for 4 days.

Prerequisites:
Registration in the WINDA database at winda.globalwindsafety.org and obtaining a WINDA ID (registration can be completed during the training).

Course Validity:
2 years

Course Objective:
The GWO Basic Safety Training Onshore is divided into the following 4 modules:

  • Module 1: Working At Heights (WAH)
  • Module 2: First Aid (FA)
  • Module 3: Manual Handling (MH)
  • Module 4: Fire Awareness (FAW)

The BST Onshore program ensures participants acquire the competencies, skills, and confidence needed to effectively respond in emergency situations and enhances their safety by learning the proper use of personal protective equipment, rescue equipment, and safety procedures.

The course combines two days of theoretical learning with two days of practical workshops.

Who is this training for?
The training is intended for individuals:

  • Seeking employment in the offshore renewable energy sector,
  • Working in the wind energy industry or related sectors,
  • Performing job functions assessed by employers or safety officers,
  • Needing to know the procedures and skills described in one or more modules of the BST standard,
  • For whom appropriate training can help minimize the risks associated with their work.

Conditions for refresher training:
The certificate is valid for 24 months. Certificates and training documentation must be renewed before the expiration date. The certificate is refreshed through the BST Onshore Refresher course.

If the certificate has expired, the participant must take the full BST Onshore training to obtain new documentation.

Key message:
GWO allows for the refreshment of the module up to three months before its expiration date, with the new one becoming active on the day the previous one expires.
