Training details:
GWO Basic Safety Training Offshore is divided into the following 5 modules:
- Module 1: Working at heights
- Module 2: First aid
- Module 3: Manual handling
- Module 4: Fire awareness
- Module 5: Survival at Sea
The BST Onshore programme provides participants with the competencies, skills and confidence needed to respond effectively in emergency situations and enhances their safety by teaching the proper use of personal protective equipment, survival gear and the application of safety procedures.
The course combines two days of study of theoretical issues with a three-day practical workshop.
Who is this training for? The training is designed for people:
- working in the wind industry or related sectors,
- performing job functions that have been assessed by employers or safety officers,
- who need knowledge of the procedures and skills described in one or more modules of the BST standard,
- for whom appropriate training can help minimise the risks associated with their.
Validity period
Certificates have a validity period of 24 months.
Certificates and training records must be renewed prior to the expiry of the relevant validity period (using the training course: Basic Safety Training Offshore Refresh). If the validity of the certificate has expired, the participant must attend the relevant BST module training to obtain new training documentation.
