GWO Sea Survival (Refresher) – SSR

Duration:
The training takes place at the Training Center and lasts for 1 day.

Prerequisites:
Registration in the WINDA database at winda.globalwindsafety.org and obtaining a WINDA ID (registration can be completed during the training).

2 years

Course Objective:
This course aims to refresh knowledge from the Sea Survival module through theoretical and practical training, equipping participants with the skills necessary for safe and responsible conduct at sea. Participants will learn to take appropriate preventive actions in various aspects of marine operations, both during normal work and in emergency situations in the offshore wind energy industry.

Training Details:
This training prepares participants to survive emergency situations at sea, such as evacuating from a wind turbine or falling into the water. It covers the following topics:

• Use of life jackets and life rafts.
• Techniques for entering the water and surviving in the water.
• Evacuation procedures from an offshore wind turbine.
• First aid for hypothermia and other hazards.

Outcomes upon completion of the training: Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to act safely and responsibly in the marine environment, ensuring their own safety and the safety of other workers, both during routine tasks and in crisis situations.

Conditions for refresher training:
The certificate is valid for 24 months. Certificates and training documentation must be renewed before the expiration date through the Sea Survival Refresher course.

If the certificate has expired, the participant must take the full Sea Survival training to obtain new documentation.

What to bring:

• Identification document,
• Swimwear (participation in the course is not allowed in Bermuda shorts or sports shorts),
• Flip-flops,
• Spare socks,
• Towel.
